The Porcelain Museum
Porzellanmuseum

The main castle tour is represented by porcelain borrowed from the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague. The exhibition presents briefly the origins of the world production of Chinese, Japanese and European porcelain. In addition to the Oriental porcelain, there are examples of Meissen, Vienna or Nymphenburg porcelain, too. Czech porcelain is presented in 21 halls of the first floor of the castle and documents the long history of Czech production. In historical displays and interiors are presented porcelain factories from Austerlitz, Klášterec nad Ohří, Březová, Kysibl, Chodov, Stará Role, Dalovice, Prague, Loket, Budov, Žandov and others.

Did you know that the second oldest porcelain factory in the Czech Republic was founded in Klášterec in 1794?

Did you know that the first surviving product, burned in the local porcelain factory on September 15, 1794, is called Vivat Bohemia?

Tip - In the fourth room with Czech porcelain do not forget to smile at yourself in the mirror. You will rejuvenate.
